Heat Pack Instructions

Our reusable heat pack is the perfect companion to your castor oil rituals — whether you’re using it with a castor wrap, for gentle warmth on tight muscles, or to deepen relaxation. It’s filled with natural lupin seeds that hold heat beautifully and won’t smell or “sweat” like rice or wheat fillers often do.

How to Warm Your Heat Pack

You have two gentle options to warm your pack:

Microwave Method

  • Place the heat pack flat in the microwave.

  • Heat it for about 60 seconds on medium power.

  • Use a tea towel or cloth to remove — it will be warm!

  • Shake it gently so the heat spreads evenly.

  • Add short bursts (20-second increments) if you want it warmer.

Oven Method

  • Preheat your oven to 180 °C, then turn it off once it’s reached temperature.

  • Lay the pack flat on a tray and let it warm for 10–15 minutes.

  • Remove carefully with a cloth or towel — it will be deeply cosy when ready.

Tips: Every microwave and oven is a little different — start with the lower time and increase gently until you find the warmth that feels just right for you.

Using with Your Castor Oil Wrap

If you’re pairing the heat pack with a castor oil wrap:

  1. Prepare your castor oil pack as usual and position it on the area you’re treating (abdomen, lower back, hips or joints).

  2. Place the warmed heat pack into the zip pocket of your castor wrap.

  3. Relax for 30–60 minutes, or longer if you have the time and space to unwind. Warmth helps the oil absorb and deepens comfort.

Caring for Your Heat Pack

After each use:

  • Let it cool completely on a flat surface.

  • Store it in a dry, room-temperature spot away from direct heat or moisture.

Keep it fresh by:

  • Avoiding exposure to oils or liquids — oil can stain and shorten the life of the cotton cover.

  • If the cover becomes dusty or needs refreshing, you can hand-wash the outer cotton cover only with a gentle soap and air dry fully before storing.

Safety & Best Practices

  • Always check the heat pack temperature before placing it on your skin — it should feel comfortably warm, not hot.

  • Place a thin cloth between the pack and your skin if you want a softer heat.

  • Never use on open wounds, broken skin, or areas with poor sensation.

  • If heat or castor oil causes any irritation, stop and take a break — your comfort matters.

  • This heat pack is designed for repeated use with your wraps and rituals — treat it gently and it will last you many seasons of warmth.
